In the Dark and Light - Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri

Dr. Jordan joins CAAM as the baritone soloist in the modern oratorio Alzheimer’s Stories by Robert S. Cohen. From CAAM’s website:

Moments of hope and affirmation in the depths of despair – or disease – are exceedingly rare, but can be found. Experience this transcendence when the Columbia Chorale, under the baton of guest conductor Dr. Brandon A. Boyd, presents the powerful modern oratorio Alzheimer’s Stories by Robert S. Cohen and Herschel Garfein coupled with the uplifting cantata I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes by Adolphus Hailstork. Alzheimer’s Stories movingly gives a voice to the millions of Americans with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers by mimicking the progression of the disease through poignant real-life experiences. In I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes, Hailstork sets three well-known Psalms – 121, 13, and 23 – in a powerful conversation with each other. Both works call us to bring love, faith, music, and light even in the darkest of places.
